75TH ANNIVERSARY MEETING – Were you aware that 2026 marks the 75th Anniversary of Grace Lutheran Church? It would be grand if we could celebrate the fact that this church has existed for 75 years, especially in a world that seems to be moving away from God’s word and fellowship.
Please prayerfully consider coming to the March 9th gathering in the upstairs fellowship room at 6:00 p.m. This is just an informal gathering for discussion on what we could do during 2026 to celebrate Grace’s 75th Anniversary. Bring your thoughts and ideas. There is a sign-up sheet at the back of the church, or you can call the church office and ask that your name and phone number be added to the list. Lots of ideas will allow us to pick what would work best. Let’s have some fun with this and remember that one of our missions is to spread God’s word. It is the beginning discussion for your church, please come. Thank you and see you there!

DORCAS CIRCLE REQUEST – Dorcas Circle sews and ties quilts and is in need of clean, gently used cotton flat full, queen , or king sized bedsheets. No flannel or microfiber sheets. Please leave the sheets in the quilt room in the Fellowship Hall at the bottom of the kitchen stairs.

FREE PHOTOS – The church historian book has been updated and available for viewing as well as previous historian books in the library. Several extra photos are on the table in the Narthex which you may take if you choose. The description of each photo and date are on the reverse side.

COMMUNING WITH PASTOR – Communing with Pastor this week at Methodist Manor – Nancy Wellington, Ruth Gatwick, Janice Otto, Jim Schaeffer, Steve Anderson, Dar Johnson, Doris Schmidt; at Otsego Place – Judy Ketcham, Norma Johnson, Lloyd Boettcher

REDEEMER LUTHERAN CHURCH MISSION TRIP TO OKLAHOMA – The same weekend of April 2024, when IDW was hit by a massive storm front, including the funnel that destroyed most of Minden, IA, another EF3 tornado ripped through Sulphur, OK, hometown of DCE Jonathon Bailey of Redeemer, Sioux City. It flattened the entire east side of town, sadly took the life of one individual, while more than 30 others were injured and required medical care. At this time, the community of Sulphur is still trying to rebuild! The people who could afford to repair their homes or had insurance have already completed those repairs. There are, however, people who cannot afford to purchase materials or hire people to help. Redeemer Lutheran Church of Sioux City will be taking a group of 25 youth and adults on a mission trip, basing out of Hope Lutheran Church in Sulphur, in June of this year, and is trying to raise $18,000 to cover travel expenses as well as materials for the people who need help. If you choose to support this project, please send donations by May 31 st to the district office – c/o Julie Mann memo “OK Mission Trip”. Thank you and God Bless.
