CHECK OUT NEW BOOKS IN LIBRARY!!
“SLAVES OF CHRIST” (A First-Century Understanding for Twenty-First-Century Christians) by none other than our former Grace Pastor… Robert Gadeken!!
“Pastor Gadeken confronts the hard truth that we are called not to be God’s servants, but his slaves. He invites his reader to discover with him the rich freedom of living as the slave of Christ. This is a truth the church needs to hear and heed.” (Joel Biermann, Professor of Theology, Concordia Seminary)
“THE EXECUTIONER’S REDEMPTION” (My Story of Violence, Death, and Saving Grace) by Rev. Timothy R. Carter
This is an intriguing story of Tim’s journey from prison guard to prison death squad to ordained LCMS Pastor through the Specific Ministry Program! He in now serving in full time ministry in his home town congregation as Care Ministry Pastor. (Rev. Gerald Kieschnick, President Emeritus, LCMS)
PARSONAGE ROOF – As you know the parsonage roof was damaged during the wind storm in April. Roof replacement update. The final bill was $13,265. Contributions to date are $10,554. That is a shortfall of $2711. We will continue our fund raising. Please prayerfully consider helping with the cost of roof replacement. Checks should be made out to Grace Lutheran Church with roof repair written in the memo line. Thank you. Finance Committee
FALL FESTIVAL – The Fall Festival will be held October 26th. It will be a Community Mission Outreach Dinner. Now is the time to start thinking of what you may wish to donate to the Silent Auction. It is requested that only new items be donated, not used or re-gifted. Thank you. When to drop off auction items and other details will be coming soon. Grace will also be hosting a Reformation Service at 3 PM that same day.
CHURCH NEWS – The Council will be meeting to amend the church bylaws and constitution at the end of September, and if anyone has any input, they should notify a council member. A copy of the bylaws is available upon request.
