June 28, 2026 – Proper 8 (Pentecost 5)
Scripture: “Whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.” — Matthew 10:38
Stewardship Sentence: As followers of Christ, we take up our cross and offer our lives in sacrificial
service and faithful stewardship.

Building Healthy Families: Many years ago, our Lutheran ancestors left behind the familiar
and came seeking religious freedom in a new land. We celebrate that freedom this week, even
as we recognize growing challenges to our religious liberty. Join us in praying for our leaders,
both in government and in our LCMS church. May God strengthen them to boldly speak and
act in ways that secure our freedom not just to have faith, but to live out that faith in the public square.
Your prayers for the staff and leadership of Lutheran Family Service as they proclaim, teach, and live out
God’s good plan for life, marriage and family are also appreciated. Happy 250 th birthday, America!
