Dear Friends in Christ, Michael and I hope that you are well. Thank you for your faithful support, love and prayers over the years. I recently returned from northern Kenya, where I hosted a team serving in the refugee camps and remote villages. It was a blessing to share the Gospel and the hope of Christ with many people. Join us in fellowship with other Christian quilters, participate in hands-on demonstrations, observe new quilting techniques, and learn more about operating a Christian quilting organization. Building Healthy Families: August 3 begins Simplify Your Life Week, a reminder to clear away clutter, reduce stress, focus on what truly matters, and find peace. Clean out a closet or pantry and donate what you no longer need. Simplify your schedule to make room for meaningful time with those you love. But most importantly, take time to read John 14:27 and John 16:33 and consider this question: where are you looking for your identity, security, and peace? If it’s your accumulating possessions, bank account, golf game, physical fitness level, number of acres, or your place on the corporate ladder, you’ll surely be disappointed. Carve out time this week to spend with your Father, tune your ear to hear His voice, look for and see the many ways He is already providing for you, in this life and the one to come. ENGAGED IN MISSION – Engaged in Mission: Congregation and Community, September 18th -19th at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1844 Highland Dr., Carroll, IA. Speakers at Rev. Dr. Quintin Condiff and Dr. Heath Trampe. This is an opportunity for both pastors and laity to learn about, discuss, and consider how to be effectively engaged in God’s mission where they are. Mission is not far away because there are people in our communities who need to hear the Gospel and God has given us the opportunity to engage with them.
